Emerging Professionals Webinar: Gifts That Went Wrong
Presented on March 19, 2025 | PURCHASE RECORDING
This session will examine examples of real gifts that went wrong. We’ll look at fact patterns that raise red flags, and learn to communicate with donors about mistakes and challenges in ways that build confidence and trust. We’ll also cover how to build gift policies and procedures that help vet gifts and donors to avoid problems as much as possible. In a profession where we’re often expected to be experts in a lot of things (real estate! stock! taxes! art! jewelry! stamps?), it’s critical to navigate the complexity and figure out a path forward, even when that path requires some back-tracking.

Emerging Professionals Webinar: How to Become a Gift Planning Detective – and stop leaving so much on the table!
Presented on July 17, 2024 | PURCHASE RECORDING
This webinar is based on a simple truth: before you get to explain to a donor how a Charitable Gift Annuity works, you must find somebody who wants or needs an income stream. Before you ask for a charitable distribution from an IRA you need to confirm your donor owns a qualified retirement plan. In this webinar, Dan Shephard will introduce you to Intentional Inquiry, how to use proven tools to uncover bigger gifts – tools that don’t leave so much potential on the table.

Do donors really like this option? Ericka Webb of Boston College and Laura Alexander of TIAA Kaspick look back at the year to unveil trends and strategies they are seeing and what we have learned about this new merger of gifting vehicles.
